Charlotte Lamb,
the daughter of a minister suddenly found her self cast out of her home
and out of society. Never could she imagine that her sister as, mean as
she was and her father, a respected minister, would perform such and
act. But realizing at the same time, the pressures that society must
place on those in such a position, Charlotte, quietly and respectfully
leaves home.
Daniel Taylor, a
physician who once knew Charlotte and her family, recently acquired a
position as a doctor to the less fortunate unwed mother’s in the town
west side of London. Once Daniel realizes Charlotte is a resident at the
home in which he works, memories begin to flood his mind. Stifling down
hurt and anger, Daniel makes sure that Charlotte receives the best care
during her stay at the home for unwed mothers.
When life and
death coincide with destiny, Charlotte must make the hardest decision of
her life. She must choose to die everyday or live knowing she could have
saved someone else. As Daniel Taylor stands beside her while Charlotte
makes an agonizing decision, little did he know that he would be faced
with some tough decisions just days later. Fortunately for the two of
them, God had his own plans even until the very end.
LADY OF MILKWEED
MANOR by Julie Klassen was a great read! From the beginning there was
suspense and the writer pulls you in a little bit at a time all to give
you a great effect. I loved the way the book took on twists and turns
leaving you wondering how it was going to end. I would definitely
recommend this one to my friends.
